Invisalign® at Q Dental.

With Invisalign®, you can straighten your teeth using clear, discreet aligners instead of traditional metal braces. These aligners are removable, allowing you to eat, drink, brush, and floss with complete ease – fitting seamlessly into your daily routine.

It’s easy to see why Invisalign® has become one of the most popular orthodontic treatments worldwide since its introduction in 2000.  Patients value it for its comfort, convenience, and discreet appearance, as well as the reduced need for frequent in-practice visits.

A trusted Invisalign® provider

At Q Dental, we combine clinical experience with advanced technology to deliver precise and predictable Invisalign® treatment.
Our iTero intraoral scanner allows us to capture highly accurate digital impressions of your teeth – removing the need for traditional putty impressions and ensuring a more comfortable experience from the start.

See your future smile

Using Invisalign® planning software, we can map every stage of your tooth movement with precision. This also allows us to show you a preview of your expected final result before treatment even begins. This level of planning helps ensure a controlled, predictable, and personalised outcome.

The Invisalign® journey – simple and structured

Step 1: Planning your smile

Your dentist will carefully design your personalised treatment plan to ensure a natural and balanced result. Digital scanning replaces traditional impressions, making the process quicker and more comfortable.

Step 2: Starting treatment

Once your aligners are ready, you can begin your treatment immediately. You’ll typically check in with us every 6–8 weeks so we can monitor progress and make any necessary adjustments.

Step 3: Maintaining your results

Once your treatment is complete, your teeth will be beautifully aligned. You’ll be provided with a retainer to wear at night to help maintain your results long term.

A smile that lasts

Invisalign® is more than a cosmetic improvement – it’s a long-term investment in your oral health and confidence, helping you achieve a straighter smile that lasts for years to come.

What can Invisalign® fix?

invisalign before after

Crowded teeth

Crowded teeth are a condition where you do not have enough room for your teeth to fit normally. This can cause plaque or tartar and other harmful bacteria to build up as it is harder for you to brush and floss well.

invisalign before after

Gaps between teeth

Gaps between teeth are when there is extra space between two or more of your teeth. This can cause pockets between your teeth and gums and food to get stuck, making them tender and sore. This might also lead to gum disease.

Open bite

An open bite is when your upper and lower teeth don't touch when you close your mouth. An open bite can make it hard for you to chew or difficult to bite even the most common of foods like apples.

Underbite

An underbite is when you close your mouth, and your lower front teeth are in front of your upper teeth. In many cases, this is actually a problem with your lower jaw being too far forward. An underbite can make it hard to chew properly and speak clearly, and it might cause your teeth to wear down more quickly.

Overbite

An overbite is when your upper front teeth overlap with your lower front teeth. Most people have at least a little overbite. When your overbite is too large, your doctor might tell you you have a deep bite. This can cause problems, from your teeth wearing down to pain in your jaw.

Crossbite

A crossbite is when you close your mouth, and yet some of your upper teeth sit inside your lower teeth rather than on the outside. A crossbite can make your teeth wear down or chip. It can also make your gums start to recede or make little notches above your gum line. This kind of damage can lead to painful gum problems or even bone loss.

FAQs

1. What’s the difference between Invisalign® and traditional braces?

Traditional metal braces use individual brackets on each tooth, as well as a wire that is placed across the brackets. These are fixed elements, meaning you will have to eat and brush with your brace if you opt for traditional braces.

Invisalign® is free from metal, and you can take them out for up to 4 hours a day to eat and brush your teeth.

2. How long should I have my aligners in each day?

You will need to wear your aligners for 2-4 hours a day, depending on the complexity of your case.

3. Am I suitable for Invisalign®?

Some people might find Invisalign® more suitable than others. Generally, though, we find that most patients with mild to moderate tooth alignment problems are very attracted to the freedom and flexibility that Invisalign® offers compared with fixed braces.

Your dentist will make a full assessment of how your teeth sit together. If you have serious alignment problems with your teeth or your jaw is severely affected, you may need to be referred for treatment with fixed braces.

You might be suited for Invisalign® if you tick the following boxes:

  • You have mild to moderate structural abnormalities with your teeth and bite.
  • You want a removable orthodontic treatment.
  • You want an alternative to braces that no one will notice.

The principal criterion for Invisalign® (and orthodontic treatment in general) is healthy teeth and gums prior to treatment. If you have problems such as decay or gum disease, your dentist will need to make a plan to stabilise these first.

4. How long does Invisalign® take?

The average treatment time with Invisalign® is 6 months. It’s possible to treat milder issues in as little as 3 months, whilst more complex cases can take between 12 and 18 months.

5. Does Invisalign® improve my dental health?

Invisalign® won’t directly improve your dental health. But… there’s a but!

Once your teeth are no longer misaligned, they will become easier to clean. Overlapping teeth can be a real challenge to clean. Once the maximum amount of tooth surface area is exposed, you will be able to clean your teeth much more efficiently, which can help to reduce cavities.
